Varteres came from the Zephyr Steppes in a village of mixed dragons. His guardian was the village's gardener with a heart as soft as his carrot leaves. His 'dad', per se, shaped an important part of Vartan's personality--his kindness.
It was clear from the moment Varteres was put into this world that he intended to be the most influential of it. He worked hard on his 'dad's' gardens and in the mean time, talked to the elders to get the latest information about the world and the flights. After learning about the adversities in the world, he vowed to himself he would find a way to change it.
Sadly, Varteres wasn't the richest nor the best strategist. The only thing he had was his words, which people found the most influential and respectable thing about him. He used this to his advantage and persuaded dragons to believe in his ideals. He would make speeches about the issues of the world and how to fix them, using every tactic in the book to make them believe him.
Varteres was overcome with pride and decided to travel across the lands to spread his ideas. He became popular at first, but was soon laughed at for his ideas on how to unite the flights and the lands as they once had been. Ashamed, he took refuge in the Light territory, where he was given refuge in a warm clan ran by two other dragons.
