Fen is the daughter of Kinya and McNair and is the only one (thus far) that's stayed with the clan rather than heed the call of the Gladekeeper. As a hatchling, she managed to sneak out of the creche and deep into the Wyldwood that sprawls above the Edge of the Wyld holdings. It took nearly a couple hours for the dragon in charge of the creche to realize that she was gone because of another altercation going on between the children at the time.

Even as a hatchling, Fen moved fast (almost faster than Sonoran and that's saying something) and she managed to get herself well and truly lost and stumbled into the Murkdepths.

As it is with all intruders in the Murkdepths, she nearly found the end of her very young life in Shicchi's coils, but for some reason the usually grumpy swamp dweller stopped himself and advised her to get back home. Instead of taking his advice, Fen started asking questions and while Shicchi was floundering with answers, Muirlinn showed up after getting word from Wraith and Stryker that a hatchling had wandered into their territory and directly into Shicchi's path. Muirlinn fielded the young Fae's questions with an expertise one gains only from walking the paths one's self and Fen became utterly fascinated by everything in the Murkdepths and the surrounding area.

By the time her grandfather, Faewyld, located her, Fen had drawn all four Murkdepths defenders into conversation as Wraith and Stryker came to check on the hatchling and had them all involved in discussions about the surrounding area. He picked her up and apologized for the invasion of the territory, but they didn't seem to mind and Fen promised she'd come back again.

It took Fen awhile to follow through on her promise, they kept a very close eye on her from that day forward so she didn't give her parents (and grandfather) a scare like that again. However, as soon as she's old enough to get out on her own, she immediately returns to the Murkdepths and re-establishes connections with the dragons though she's spoken with Wraith and Stryker on and off when the Scavengers swing through the clan hold to pick up and drop off supplies for themselves, Muirlinn, and Shicchi.

When she returns she's welcomed as an old friend and goes through the survival courses that Wraith and Stryker run with some extra training from Muirlinn and Shicchi.

Because of her amicable relationship with the Murkdepths, Fen eventually becomes the official liaison between the four "Murkies" as some of the other dragons refer to them and the clan.

While she loves the stories and comfort of the Murodepths, she also loves the mysteries of the Murkdepths for completely different reasons.
