Biography
resident teenager
is colourblind
adopted by Sandy'n'Cottonwings
Sandy flew around the small amber den, muttering softly to herself and occasionally throwing a dirty look at her son as she applied more sap to the walls of the den. Phrases such as "Ungrateful child!" and "Hoops in your wings, whatever next?!" made their way over to Jem, who was sitting in a glum heap in the opposite corner of their den. He looked over to his other mother, Cottonwings, who rolled her eyes at him before turning her attention back to her partner.
"Love," she started, and Sandy looked around, her crest wobbling agitatedly as she did so. "Love, he's not little anymore. They're his wings, he can pierce them if he wants to."
Sandy's eyes flickered away from her partner's as she started to apply the amber-coloured sap to the walls with renewed vigour. "He'll always be a child in my eyes. And those abominations must be out by the morning!"
"Not if I have a say in the matter," Jem's voice was almost inaudible over the gross sucking noises of his mother putting down another layer of sap.
However, this was heard by Cottonwings. Her crest began to wave from side to side as she turned a stern gaze onto her son. "You speak like that to your mother again, you won't have a say in any matter for the next two months, you hear?"
Jem didn't reply, just tucked his wings closer to his body, his red eyes narrowed at the floor. One day he'd get his own way. One day.
