Clan Ambassador (Consort)

Clan Council

--Diplomatic Upbringing--

Hailing from a well bred family of dragons in Lightning territory, Yori often found himself overshadowed by his beautiful and outgoing brothers and sisters. All destined for the political gambit, they polished their charisma with their claws each morning, giving sidelong glances to their somber brother who presented his claims without a silver tongue to gilt them.

Though all his siblings were practiced in the art of reading others to better serve their interests, Yori focused more on any nuance in another dragon's mannerisms that he could detect, not just those that promised to get him what he wanted. He kept dragon watching journals as a hatchling, enjoying times when he could fold himself into a quiet corner and watch others interact (especially with a bowl of figs or other soft fruits to snack on, a luxury he enjoys as an adult as well).

Though he often found himself sneaking out to observe dragons from walks of life his pampered lifestyle didn't give him easy access to, he could willingly admit that he had a preference for finery and creature comforts, particularly sparkling wing adornments and luxurious fabrics. Like his sisters, he enjoyed raising small mammals such as cats and rodents and spoiling them as well.

Unfortunately, what little he had in common with his siblings wasn't enough to keep bitter blood from bubbling between them. Amidst their honey layered upbringing, Yori took from his siblings the razor sharp detection of lies and half truths, so used to the way that lies were woven that he could unravel them with hardly any effort at all. His uncanny ability brought more distrust than it did reassurance, not just from his peers, but his siblings as well.

Shrewd enough to foresee his own...misfortune on the horizon, Yori slipped quite literally into the shadows, leaving his family and his flight to make his own way in the world.

--Consort to the Ambassador--

After months of wandering in less than preferable conditions, Yori found himself in the Shadowbinder's realm. He was taken in by the already growing clan, a refugee of uncertain times for a while. Eager to cement himself as a useful member of the clan (and to gain back some of the perks of his childhood with a more significant position within the community), he began to search for ways in which to put his childhood skills to use.

What he found was a whole realm that followed a deity known for trickery and deceit. Honestly, there was a bit of a learning curve for him. He took somewhat salted pleasure in meeting dragons that he knew could out lie even his slippery siblings. With a strong foundation, however, he quickly began to regain the upper hand, gaining the notice of the clan council.

With his somewhat indifferent agreement, he became the mate to the clan's political ambassador, another skydancer named Amontillado. She had all the charm and poise that he lacked, but was eager to combine those skills with his to create a truly formidable force when negotiating anything from trade to peace.

He was appointed as a member of the clan council along with his mate, and settled in to his new life, certain that his siblings would not reach him in this place. He and Amontillado found each other pleasant enough to live with, though the both of them agree it is a marriage of convenience. Perhaps of more importance to him was the new collection of kittens he adopted once he'd been with the clan long enough to locate some.
