"Atrocities are not less atrocities when they occur in laboratories and are called medical research."
― George Bernard Shaw

There is only one law that cannot--must not--be broken in the Wandering Contagion, and that is to bring life back to the dead. Plaguebringer herself decries the practice as unholy, as the dead, by definition, have failed at the only thing that matters: to survive.

Kierce did not break this law. She wasn’t a heretic. But she may have… bent it, slightly, in her researches. She had only been trying to prolong the life of a host. Only living hosts can transmit the plague and so it stood to reason that the longer they lived the more plague they spread. It wasn’t her fault that her ignorant clan mates couldn’t tell the difference between resuscitation and resurrection. Even so, she soon found herself in need of a new home.

The Southern Icefield provided two undeniable benefits: first, an environment that helped to preserve her specimens, and second, a new clan that didn’t look too closely at her laboratory protocols so long as she did her part in contributing to the clan upkeep. As an added perk the Blizzard Nomads never stayed in one place long enough to rile up the locals. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement, and one that she had no qualms in exploiting.
