Eevr since he was a hatchling, Leaves has felt a strong connection to nature, even more so than his father, who was sent by the Gladekeeper herself. He has always been more in tune with the ebb and flow of the universe than his peers, coming to understand death at a very young age when his brother was killed by his mother to ensure his survival. For him to live, his brother had to die. His father would not tolerate weak offspring, but if he was to be his only heir, he would have to live. As soon as she could, his mother gave him to Raziels first mate, Teorah, to be raised separate from his tyranny.


Leaves loved the Gladekeeper for the life she provided to him and his peers, but he knew he was not destined to stay under the safety of her wings. As he grew older, he found himself drawn towards the wind, and turned to follow it. He gathered his people for the long journey, over land and sea, to the birthplace of his closest friend, Gale. There, the senseless fighting within their clan would end. It had to.


The wind territory has been kind to them. When they first arrived, their clan split into factions. Those who wished to remain under Gale and Teorah's leadership, those who had always lived independently in their territory, and those who wished to remain nomadic. The dragons who stayed with Gale, Leaves included, built themselves a city of reeds and kites and platforms, one that would float high above the ground, providing them a safe place to live and grow, a new home. Leaves knows not what happened to those who departed, but he wishes them well.
