Biography

波塞冬（古希腊语：Ποσειδών），又译波塞顿、波色伊东，是希腊神话中的海神（亦是马匹的神，在神话中为人类带来马匹），宙斯的哥哥，哈迪斯的弟弟。其象征物为“波赛顿三叉戟”。相对应于罗马神话的尼普东，海王星的拉丁名是起源于他。他的坐骑是白马驾驶的黄金战车。他的武器是三叉戟。
当初宙斯三兄弟抽分势力范围，宙斯抽得了天空，哈迪斯（也称黑帝斯）抽中冥界， 波赛顿就成了一切大海和湖泊的君主。
他的威严与大地无穷无尽的生命力及洪水相匹敌，被称为是大海的宙斯，其地位和力量之高，以致支配力遍及全宇宙，是仅次于宙斯的强大掌权者。
在讨伐克罗诺斯时，独眼巨人送给宙斯闪电火，给波塞冬三叉戟，给哈迪斯黑暗头盔。此后波塞冬经常手持三叉戟，这成了他的标志。当他愤怒时海底就会出现怪物，他挥动三叉戟不但能轻易掀起滔天巨浪引起风暴和海啸、使大陆沉没、天地崩裂，还能将万物打得粉碎，甚至引发震撼整个世界的强大地震，由于过于强悍，就连冥王都惧怕会不会令宇宙裂开导致冥界暴露在人间，但象征他的圣兽海豚则显示出海的宁静和波塞冬亲切的神性。爱琴海附近的希腊海员和渔民对他极为的崇拜。
波塞冬的三叉戟并非只用来当武器，也被用来击碎岩石，从裂缝中流出的清泉浇灌大地，使农民五谷丰登，所以波塞冬又被称为丰收神。波塞冬也给予了人类第一匹马，他乘座的战车就是用金色的战马所拉的，当他的战车在大海上奔驰时，波浪会变的平静，并且周围有海豚跟随。
