Biography
OREITHYIA
Taurus ♦ Captain/Sea Trade Manager |
Ori came from the cold caves edging near the Cloudscrape Crags, far bellow the towering summits. As a hatchling, she had always dreamed of being the first to return from the peaks of the mountains, but was gravely warned and scolded for her dreams. Her mother instead tried to subdue her wants with the family career of ice fishing. Her mother taught her the steps to becoming a professional ice fisher, which included endurance, speed, and camouflage. Ori stumbled many times--she was far from perfect. Nonetheless, the lessons stuck to her and allowed her to become almost as great as her mother. The dream Ori had as a child still remained, nonetheless, even as a grown dragon. She would train by night to endure the harsh conditions, similar to her ice fish training. Finally, after months of progress, she felt like she was ready. Ori snuck out during the night as the clan was asleep and took to the skies, determined to touch the snow that lie atop the mountain. Like many other dragons before her, she failed. The powerful winds buffeted her constantly and left her weak. Ori, sick from nature's attacks, ended up tumbling back down towards the bottom. She remained there for about a week, for she was too ill to try to venture back to her cave. When she finally came back, her mother grasped her tightly and wept. Her mother had feared she had died, and Ori's injuries didn't help. Ori was nursed back to health by her mother, who was very protective now and refused to let anyone else see her. Sadly, her mother would lose her again. Ori planned on leaving, After her failure and near death, Ori felt it was best for her to get away from the mountains. She didn't want to try again and truly die. Here, she settled. Oreithyia settled on the small tundras that lie in the far parts of the territory. She would bathe in the waters, but scowl and say how warm they were compared to home. Plumagon, moved by her resolve, gave her a gorgeous ship to sail along the seas for as long as she wanted. He knew it could not compare to the august mountains in her Nothern home, but he hoped that she could still feel in control by having her own crew. She loved sailing, and she loved her crew and her gorgeous ship. She repayed Plumagon by agreeing to help control the influx of sea trade of the land, and hunt down any ships that dare try to pirate. |
