____Raised by a strict pair of famous artists, Lunae spent most of her early life training in the arts of song and dance. She struggled to grasp the complex choreography and vocal agility required to become a true Silkdancer. Her stubborn nature helped her immensely, as the difficulty did not stop her; it only fed into her passion. As she grew into a mature Skydancer, she surpassed even her parents' high expectations. ____As her training with her parents came to a close, it was time to search for opportunities and job offerings away from home. Both her pedigree and her skill as a performer netted her requests all over Sornieth. As a farewell present and an acknowledgment of her success, her aging parents passed their luxurious celestial silks onto her. Those ancient silks marked both the blooming of a new Silkdancer, and the retirement of the elder. With her parents' blessings and her own excitement held in her heart, she set out on her own. ____Nothing could have prepared her for the state of the outside world. Isolated and sheltered in a small pocket of the Sea of a Thousand Currents her whole life, she never knew war. Never knew suffering. The outside world was hideous to her, as a dragon whose entire life revolved around beauty and grace. The long trek through battlefields and ghost towns between flight borders on the way to performances weighed heavily on her. ____While her fame grew, her focus wandered to the sad state of the world. Eventually, she could not pretend to be happy anymore. She couldn’t stand being on a stage, twirling fabric around for entertainment when there were dragons killing each other for their gods. She stopped performing, instead using her time to organize rallies for peace. Others joined her cause, coming together under the banner of “Unite the Flights”. ____Public opinion turned against her, and because she was so high profile, she received threats against her life. She was forced to step down from a leadership role, and instead had to continue her activism from the shadows. She set her expensive silks and jewelry aside so she could get her hands dirty for the first time, assisting deserters, rescuing prisoners of war, and aiding wounded veterans. ____Wanted dead in most regions for treason or war crimes, she had no choice but to make connections with criminal organizations to survive. The Vardali Family, having little to no loyalty to a singular god as well, provided her protection and a platform. She became stationed in the Gilded Heights, hosting regular events and performances in the Resplendent Circle to spread the concepts of unity and peace. |
