Biography

Meraxes


Meraxes was the dragon ridden by Rhaenys Targaryen during the War of Conquest. The she-dragon was named after a god of the Valyrian Freehold. Her egg hatched on Dragonstone during the Century of Blood

Meraxes was larger than Vhagar but smaller than Balerion , it is said that Meraxes was capable of swallowing an entire horse. Meraxes is described as having "silver scales" though it isn't clear if it was one solid color, or if her primary color was silver and had a different secondary color.

Rhaenys and Meraxes were both killd during the First Dornish War at Hellholt. Meraxes died after an iron bolt from a scorpion pierced her eye and drove into her brain, instantly killing her in mid-air.

Rhaenys was Meraxes only rider
