Chela was a thief and robber, viscous and cruel. He prowled the roads at the nights, and while stocky and not given to stealth he was powerful and easily overpowered his foes, making off with goods and treasure into the night.


Countless Clans hunted for him but he evaded them with ease and laughed and mocked them as they attempted to track him down. Justice could not touch him. His infamy spread and he continue his raiding ways.


Until one night he perhaps bit off more than he could chew. His greed got the best of him and he attacked a caravan, the splendid markings on the armor of the guards tempting him. Little did he know he had attacked a powerful mage, who was traveling at night because she had no fear of him and robbers like him. And she showed him why she did not fear him, cursing him into a breed of Dragon he'd never seen before, the marks that covered his skin shifted and reformed into marks over his skin, branding him painfully with runes that proclaimed his crimes to any that looked upon them.


He laughed at her curse, his new form was even better suited for his life of crime, and while the runes glowed (and occasionally hurt), he cared not who saw his crimes.

He adjusted to his new form, learning how to use his claws. He was still mostly flightless but his new speed was incredible and he could see in the dark in ways he could not before. To him it was nothing but a blessing. He rebuilt his identity as Lune, and few connect him to Chela, Lune the Highwayman/Beast of the Road stands in their memory far more.


Then one day as he rested and looked over his treasure, a stranger approached him. She was stunned by the runes that covered his skin and his odd form but yet did not fear him. He had been a solitary dragon by nature, so having a visitor was odd, particularly one that showed no fear of him. But as they talked and exchanged stories about themselves, he grew to enjoy her company.

The highwayman could be said to be in love with the one who offers shelter to those who fear his territory, a part of the story the legends never tell, at least not yet. They instead speak of his children, spreading out like a thieves guild across the land.
