Biography
His skin felt the stingy, cold slab of stone beneath him, glossy pelt draped on the sacrificial throne, chest inflating and deflating as mouthfuls of dry air entered his lungs. He didn’t want to open his eyes, recall the amassing crowd he once called family present to witness his ultimate demise. To think that his very own mother and father had permitted the tribe to offer his life in exchange for long-lasting protection from incorporeal spirits. He tried to swallow down that boulder choking his throat while his limbs trembled in anticipating fashion. Any moment now, he would feel pain, he would be overcome with agony and desperate pleas. He just wanted it all to be over with, for the Deities’ sake… And a heartbeat later, a cry of war split the silence of the night, followed by a frenzy of claws scraping the ground and slashing flesh. Seidhr was invaded by a nauseatingly sharp hurt, feeling himself fade away. However, his eyes soon blinked open, though not the ones of his own. He glanced below him; there was not the body of a Tundra, but one of a Wildclaw’s. His head snapped back up, shock sparking his adrenaline and nerves. A rivaling tribe had interrupted the ritual, having schemed an attack that very fortunate moment. The broken process had his spirit navigate to a new vessel that had recently fallen rather than accompany those above and lost. He staggered back up, and sprinted away for his life in the middle of this disturbed peace. Seidhr walked forward through the years, never looking back to what had happened that evening. In spite of such a traumatic experience, his body and soul matured, though his trust has been locked away in the deep corners of his beating heart. That is the reason why he plants a notable distance between him and the outside world; getting fond of anyone is a warning for him to get as far as possible. He believed it best to acquire a sense of extravagant impudence and devious manners - don’t take him wrong, he means no harm lest be it to allow him to survive. To other dragons, he could appear indifferent, perhaps even uninterested and lax, due to not being bothered to take his time to learn about every social or behavioural interactions. Though do take him wrong as soon as the blue-winged Wildclaw sprouts his shrewd Machiavellian tactics, quick to cover it under a layer of ingenuous interest so as to avoid trouble. What else is there not to doubt, considering how he hides away any sort of fact regarding his past from prying maws? There is none to blame after the incident that plagued his existence. Now an adult, he has taken his duty as a nomadic Shaman, including a dedicated lifestyle, loyal rituals and prayers, holding a deep-rooted connection with wandering spirits and the paranormal world. For some reason he seems keen on keeping close to entities stuck on the mortal realm, so that he may concede them a path to eternal rest in exchange for aid and temporary powers in his journey. A contract of sorts, if you may. It’s common to acknowledge he is always within presence of some sort of spiritual being, never free from his work, yet he never lets his guard down and is cautious of those he arranges deals with. That doesn’t impede Seidhr on having his free-spirited snout stuck in any questionable job no matter the potential consequences… Wild rascal always finds a way to save his hide. His services have never gone through without him receiving some sort of compensation for them, be it wisdom, materials, powers, relics or food. Charity work is not his work. The Whispering Eyes Clan found one use for this mysterious, slippery individual among their own. Long-decayed souls are brought at Seidhr’s command in order to commune with them and retrieve the relics they are partially bound to, and as such pass them forth to Antares. A shelter, charms and food are offered to him, but the real reason behind his stay lies in the Clan Leader. He can very well sense a sort of ‘glow’ in them, which irks his curiosity even more as the days wane by. Now at least he can justify his need to attempt getting nearer to Antares, all the while accomplishing his duty as the Shaman. |
