John was very sensible dragon, down to earth, loyal and honourable, one that nobody would mind having as a friend, still kind even after all the disappointments that life piled upon that platinum shoulders, leaving a bitter aftertaste in pointy-teethed mouth. Average at most. Vaguely curious at best. That is, till one perfectly normal day, one very large lunatic imperial flown right into that spotted hide, sending them both head over heels over tails for a moment and then, wounding that long neck around Guardian's shorter one, talons digging and tail around midriff, stabilizing their flight, putting them into small ravine, snoot flaring and shaking black curly mane. And then small red eyes filled with razor sharp intelligence focused on John who tried to stand up without keeling over and it nodded sharply with: There is a large probability that we'll be attacked in approximately one point three minute by the oversensitive enraged fae clan that might or might not be on a bit illegal drug, coming? Also you prefer "he", "she" or 'them'?
