Carnelian has never been able to fully discard her Plague upbringing. More savage and bloodthirsty than most, she tends to unnerve more "normal" dragons. She truly does mean well when she explains that her smock is red to hide bloodstains or mentions the high chances of drowning in an underwater lair. Unfortunately, her difficulty with Draconian combined with her intense red stare often terrify the dragons she's trying to help. Her attempt to lessen that fear by donning a plague mask hasn't exactly helped. Emerald insists that she's really a sweet, kind dragon underneath the glare and gore. (His friends think he's deluded by love.)

Due to her extensive knowledge of diseases, Carnelian acts as the clan doctor. She tends to the wounded, diagnosing illnesses and treating those that cannot be healed by magic. Most of the clan attempt to stay healthy for fear of having to visit the "Dread Red Doctor."
