The Light paladin Damario had always been somewhat troubled, always felt a sense of unease. He tried to bury this unease in his sacred duty to the Lightweaver, travelling across the continents and bringing justice and salvation to his fellow dragons. Things changed for him when he found himself stuck in Earth territory; strange forces kept him trapped in isolation, unable to commune with his patron deity. Dust storms that raged when he tried to fly out of the Shattered Plain, streams that would dry up when he tried to walk away. And worse, he would always hear about rumblings of dissent from a small cliff village. He sensed that something huge was going to happen, and that it was the Lightweaver's will that he stay and prevent it -- And yet, suddenly, he found himself hearing his deity's call once again. He lifted his wings to the sky, and for the first time, no dust storms arose. He flew, sleeplessly, pushing himself past his limits of exhaustion, back to the Hewn City, where, as soon as he stepped down, he was swept away in a ray of light. He had been exalted; he felt as though the disturbance in his soul would finally be at rest. He was not so lucky. After only a brief respite, the skies opened up again, this time over the Shattered Plain, and Damario was cast out. Now he is left to wander the plain, angry, alone, twisted. Something dark lurks within him, something he can no longer hide. |
