Macaulay

Mac is the sixty second child born from the pairing of Elishan and Mikala. Nestmate to Moonshadow (f), Gen (f), and Peirene (f), he was the third born and only son in his nest. He is not in touch with his family due to a vision he had when he was young that implied he would become an emperor with several of his siblings. Their faces were obscured so he avoids all contact with everyone he is related to.

He is able to see visions of the deaths of dragons upon meeting them as well as their magical aura. He doesn't enjoy knowing when other dragons will pass, so he stays mostly to himself in a lair under the Hewn City.

His lair is a gigantic sparkling cave. It must have originally been some sort of basement to the buildings above. There is one entrance, through an otherwise unassuming looking building where the floor had collapsed into a cave, which eventually leads to the lair. The walls of his lair are covered in shiny glass tiles of all different colors and a small trickling stream makes its way out of a crack in the wall, across the entrance and down into a small hole on the other wall. The entrance looks much too small for the large dragon inside to fit through. The lair is also covered with cats of all varieties and sizes. If you were to catch Mac unaware in the early morning, you would see them all curled up sleeping around him. They bring him food, and he seems to have an understanding with them.

Mac has only one close friend, Lilith, the young dragon who never ages. She sometimes brings other hatchlings to meet him but she has never brought any of the pearlcatchers who make up the rest of her clan to visit. Mac likes to play word games with her, and the two of them can sit for hours, reading, talking, or playing.
