Lieutenant Shruikan is among the highest ranking of the Guard, only outranked by Magnus and Carnelian.

Many believe he is ill prepared for such responsibility, and should be replaced by an older and presumably more experienced dragon. Among them is the aforementioned Carnelian and the ever disapproving Jadite.

Surprisingly, Shruikan isn’t bothered much by their protests, they only strengthen his determination to prove that Magnus had made a the right choice when he chose to mentor the young Skydancer.

He often helps Magnus in his daily task, and joins him on evening patrols. He’s also given him the duty to oversee that the Granum Clan is ready for any threat that may arise, as well as overseeing the training of the Guard’s new recruits. But by far, his favorite duty is to teach other non Guard member of the Granum Clan how to protect themselves in case of emergency.

He particularly enjoys training young hatchlings how to protect themselves in case of attack or natural disasters.
