Edlyn the Water's Shade, the Nest Guardian, Soshafa's Whisper. He was adopted by Soshafa herself which makes all within the clan his adopted siblings.

He loves to weave silk and to hum songs, but he also loves his adopted family, his immediate family, Valor and baby dragons. He hates anyone and anything that threatens the things he loves.

His strengths are his size, his ability to take a step back and assess the situation before acting, his caring and loving nature, his gentle voice and careful actions. His weaknesses are his shyness, constant worry, lack of a Charge and sometimes taking too long thinking to act upon a situation in the timeframe given.

When he hatched he was, for some reason, hated by his clan, perhaps it was how closely he resembled the ocean. He was ridiculed and mentally attacked, being called Seaface as a hatchling while all his other siblings were given more flattering and honorable names. He was attempted to be sold, as exhaulting him was seen as too high of a honor. He was not welcomed into his own clan, and sat within the borders of the auction house for 3 months alone and shamed. Worst of all, perhaps, was that because of this shame and harassment over his appearance and being locked away in the auction house, not only did he have no pride to begin with, but he was never given the opportunity to find a Charge.

Depressed and alone, he sat in waiting for what might happen to him. Soshafa herself had entered into the auction house to specifically buy a Guardian dragon that day, and with only a few seconds left before his time expired, she handed the necessary treasure in exchange for the ocean looking Shadow Guardian. Soshafa's eyes glowed with admiration at his colours and genes and proceeded to give many loving head nuzzles towards him. On their way home she asked what his name was and where he came from, then proceeded to nearly cry at the story she was told by the very weary and quiet dragon, who was very disorientated by being able to touch grass and see the sky clearly.

As he was in the auction house since a hatchling, Soshafa taught him how to fly on their way home. He was welcomed with many opened arms and not a day passed before Soshafa herself lay down the renaming scroll before him, nuzzled his head and proclaimed his name to be Edlyn. This new environment was certainly something that took him a long time to get used to, but he loved his new home, his new name and his new assigned mate, as much as she ignores him and doesn't return his affection. His pride is torn and tattered, and his shyness gets in the way of him announcing it out loud, but he wishes her to be his Charge, though as she herself is more focused on her own charge, he simply stays in search of one that might be easier for him to protect. He is now the official caretaker of all nests and eggs that the clan produces.
