Biography

Arla was indeed a coatl. Born Pure white, her clan mates had exiled her. Her pale plumage would certainly bring disaster to the clan. They abandoned her in the middle of winter under a cherry tree her parents had hoped would become her grave. She'd lay there for days, under a blanket of snow. Every now and then she'd muster up the strength to eat the maggots and flies that swarmed her. (She rarely ate, as coatls hated anything but seafood.)

As she grew, Surviving became a bit easier. She learned to fish and hide herself. The little hatchling had made her self a little home underneath that Cherry tree. She'd dig in the snow and collect the small pretty things that bigger dragons had dropped. She'd display them proudly inside of her tree. But she felt lonely. She had only herself to look at, witch wasn't much, as she looked like everything else in her life. White, like the falling snow, ike the frozen lake, like the cloudy sky.

Eventually the Ice melted, and Her first spring came around. It was beautiful. So many different colors. The sky was blue! The leaves were Green! The Tree... Arla looked in awe at her little home. The once dead branches had burst into a wonderful Bouquet Pinks and reds as cherry blossoms blew through the wind.

Arla couldn't resist. She ran through the meadows and fields as fast as she could, to see all the colors she could ever see until... She ran face first into the ground. She had tripped over a young dragon sleeping in the woods. He jumped awake and stared at Arla, who screamed. They stared at each other for a full twenty seconds. "Um.." Said the dragon. "DON'T HURT ME I DIDN'T MEAN IT!" The new dragon cocked it's head. "What are you talking about?" He asked. "You're the one who hurt me, jumping on me like that. Watch where you're goin'." He curled up and closed his eyes again. This new dragon was much bigger than Arla, but his voice was all squeaky... This new dragon was gorgeous too, she had to admit. So many browns and greens. He looked like part of the landscape his self. She was sure she saw flowers growing in his mane.

The Dragon opened one eye. "Are you gonna go now?" Arla just stared. "What are you?" He Jumped up and glared at her. "What?? WHAT am I? I think you mean who, miss. Learn some manners. Jeeze! Gosh, I would've been EXILED for calling someone a what!" After he finished fuming he attempted to regain his composure. "My name is Amir, of the Cave of Murk. Who might you be, miss?" He grudgingly bowed his head to her. Arla did the same. "No No!! Ugh.." Amir shook his head. "Girls don't bow." Arla was so confused at this point. "Then what do they do?" Amir sat up straight. (He was almost twice Arla's size.) You sit up straight and you nod, like this!" Arla did the same. "You sill haven't told me your name. It's really rude, you know." Arla looked around. "Um..." she tried to make up something as cool sounding as "Amir of the Cave of Murk, but nothing came to mind. "I'm... Princess Arla... of.. That tree way over there." Amir rolled over, laughing. "Princess? That's Hilarious." Arla scoffed. "I am a princess. I have riches! and my own castle! and.. and... and its rude to laugh at people and call them liars." Amir stopped. He got up and glared at her. "Alright, let's just see you're "Castle" then."

The two walked over to the cherry tree where Arla lived. (Amir could only fit his front half through the door.) "What a small castle... you live here all by your self?" Arla went and sat down by her small mirror. she played with her plumage. "Yep. Look at all my treasure though! isn't it pretty?" She held up a broken pocket watch. It was gold, despite the fact the glass inside was broken and the hands were missing. It was good enough for Amir. "Wow.. I-I" Amir panicked. "I didn't mean to laugh at you, I'm sorry. He tried to bow, but She really couldn't tell since it was only his front half. Arla sat up and nodded. "I forgive you, Naive." Amir glared at her. "Naive?" Arla just smiled. "I'm a Princess remember?" Amir rolled his eyes. "Is that why you're all white? I've never seen an all white Coatl Before. Arla paused, trying to hide how hurt she was. "Yeah.. That's why."

Amir went over the next day with his father, Heath. "I'm not lying dad! She's a real princess! She has her own little caste! and.. and.." He stumbled over his words for the millionth time since yesterday. Heath was just happy he'd made a new friend, However concerned he was for this small child living all alone in a tree. Amir stumbled into the tree trunk face first, and found Arla trying to stick cherry blossoms in her plumage. "Hey! Hey Pr- WOoH" Heath pulled Amir out of the tree and sat him down. He gave him a reprimanding look. "Oh.." Amir went over by the entrance and knocked on the wood. He cleared his throat. "Um, Princess Arla, I've brought y dad to bask in your presence. Will you please come out now?" Heath smiled and nodded. "JUST A MINUTE." Arla yelled.
They waited a while and Arla finally came out. Blossoms were sticking out of her plumage in every possible way and kept falling to the ground. "Yes?" Heath gave a warm smile. "My dad wonders if you needed extra Protection! I'll be your royal guard! You can come live in our cave with our clan and we'll give you a big meal and Mr. Murk'll try his best not to eat you probably!" Heath rolled his eyes at that last remark, but smiled at arla. He bowed his head, (witch was about as big as Arla at this point.) "Would you like to come and live with us? We will not judge you, child." Arla stared at him, and started crying. She hugged the big dragon, and allowed him to pick her up, and carry her away.

"Um.. I guess We'll get your things later..." said Amir, stumbling after.
