Camellia

She looked up as the sun rose in the sky. Her eyes gleamed pink, painting the world with warm colors. Testing her ground, she stood up, the rock was firm bellow her paws. You could ask where she came from and she'd stare in silence. There were no memories of the past to cloud her mind. They were long gone and unnecessary for the task at hand.

Camellia was her name and she needed to find a mate, a companion to go about the great adventure of living. Someone to build a lair with and craft memories. She took off, relying on her strong wings to take her far, some place to live.

Two days and two nights later, Camellia had made her home in a nice cave at the top of Crystalspine Reaches. And alone, she sang. For days, the sound of her cries echoed throughout the world, calling out to any dragon just as lonely as she was. At the end of the third month, a mighty Guardian came to greet her, Strongclaw was his name.

They started a family, Camellia would tend to their one and only egg as Strongclaw cleared more room in the lair for others to come and hunted for food. Camellia sang everynight. As the egg hatched, two more dragons had joined the small clan, two mirrors: Aileen and Ruto. The new born was a beautiful Guardian girl, her father named her Snowflake.

Camellia ruled her clan with kindness and cheerful ways. The hunting was a task everyone shared and as soon as Snow was old enough, she and Ruto shared a nest. Strongclaw had taken a liking to Aileen and they mated. The fae matriarch saw her family grow and was glad they all got along so well.

Every night, though, she would climb the mountain and stare at the sky, wondering if that was indeed her calling. Had she really fullfilled her mission? Was the Arcanist happy with her efforts to please him? And she’d sing away her feelings.

Axel came and his calm and his stories charmed Camellia. She climbed down the mountain for him. In her lair, she found three new borns. Ruru, Yemingo and Tameika had just hatched from their eggs and were being spoiled by Ruto and Aileen. Snow and Strongclaw were out hunting.

Camellia mated with Axel, laying one egg. Ruru and Yemingo grew up strong and left as soon as they felt the Arcanist calling to them. They had their own mission. Camellia had another baby to tend to, Galtan was born as Strongclaw brought an egg he found nearby.

As Morpheus and Riverwalker found their way to the lair, Hilla was born. And Camellia was watching her family grow. She kept on singing every night, as a ritual to thank the Arcanist for her happiness and to please her companions.
