Biography

Occupation: Healer/Medic
Clan Status: Middle to Upper Class
Mate: Viviana

Ashama was raised in a clan with mixed species of dragons, though it was made up almost entirely of Imperial and Fae dragons. He and his parents were in the higher rankings of the clan, though he was often ignored due to the almost constant war that his clan was waging on a nearby group of Pearlcatchers. Ashama was desperate to help in some way, though he refused to kill anyone. He believed that every dragon should be given the chance to grow and be a better dragon than they were before, including the Pearlcatchers that his clan hate so much. He was convinced that there should be a better way to solve conflict than endless war.

Ashama's opinions made him a traitor to his clan, who took his claims as proof that he could not be trusted in the war effort. Still, they were hesitant to dismiss any help they could get. As such, Ashama was assigned to the medical wards, where he would heal dragons wounded in battles, but would stay out of the way of the rest of the clan. Ashama was relieved that he could help in a way that didn't cause harm to any other dragons, but felt ostracized and alone. Unfortunately, a huge battle called for all Imperials to be present and assist in the war efforts. Ashama had never been on the front lines before and though he did his best, Ashama was wounded and fled to the sidelines of the battle. From there, he watched the Pearlcatchers gradually win the battle. Ashama was horrified to see that an Emperor dragon was rising out of the bodies of his fallen friends and family. They tried to fight it, but the Emperor dragon had soon murdered every Pearlcatcher on the battle field. No one could escape it. Ashama watched as a single Mirror dragon escaped the fight and fled the scene, but the Emperor followed her. Unable to stand by while another dragon was killed, Ashama rushed to help and prayed that the Emperor would not kill a fellow Imperial. He blocked the Mirror from the Emperor's gaze and the monstrosity moved on. Ashama collapsed from his wounds and was nursed back to health by the Mirror he had saved, Remara. Together, they swore to never go to war again and he joined her on her journey back to her clan in the Viridian Labyrinth.

Once there, Ashama was accepted into Jae's clan and offered his healing expertise to the clan whenever they needed it. Jae was thrilled to have an Imperial in her clan, as she believed the species to be great warriors and fighters. She insisted he join the patrols into the Shrieking Wilds and Ashama hesitantly accepted. However, as soon as the patrol engaged in even a minor fight with the beasts of the Wilds, Ashama was reminded of how he lost his family in a brutal war that he had wished to play no part in. Much to her disappointment, Jae realized that Ashama was not the warrior she thought he was. However, the clan needed a medical expert, and she allowed Ashama to stay.

As the years went on, Ashama grew close to the gentle Skydancer, Viviana, who also stayed in the camp as the clan's Nest-Mate. The two bonded, as they both had lost their families to conflict and sought out a more peaceful lifestyle. They became mates, though neither bore children exclusively to each other. Viviana helped Ashama overcome some of the fears he still harbored from battle and the two stayed close friends.

Ashama took on Lenoro as his apprentice and continued to help the clan grow and stay healthy and safe. Though quiet and often reserved, Ashama was frequently visited for advice in various matters, which he was glad to offer. He remains the chief medical expert of the clan today.
