HndUIfi.png Aduial's origins have always been shrouded in mystery. Although diminutive in size, she fully utilizes her blinding speed and agility against her opponents, and her one-on-one combat skills are unmatched. Yet any who try to ask where she learnt such incredible skills is always met with a cold glare from those golden eyes. And that mark... she may try cover it up with her armour, but even she can't deny that she has the glowing brand of a felon of the Lightweaver. It was the brand that brought her to the Sanctum, partially. What better place to hide from the Lightweaver's soldiers than in the land of shadows? But it was more than mere dragons that Aduial was fleeing from. She was once an assassin, one of the best. But one day she caught wind of a contract, one considered untouchable by even the most elite. A prominent family of Imperials hidden away in the Hewn City - that alone should have been enough for her to know better. But she was arrogant, and her arrogance blinded her. But the contract was untouched for a reason. For when many closely bonded imperials die side by side, there is a chance for something unspeakable to occur. A chance greatly heightened by the darkness lurking within the shade-touched ruins of The Hewn City.

It was this... mistake that lead to Aduial's golden brand and her escape into the Tangled Wood. She traveled from clan to clan, offering her services as a sparring trainer to pay for board. Eventually she ended up at the Sanctum, inexplicably drawn to it like so many others. She could fight, she told them, and she could train others to as well. Aduial never intended to stay at the Sanctum permanently, but she began to find herself becoming friends - friends? - with Cael, who specializes in training larger breeds for battle. She eventually even managed to quell the sickness in her stomach she felt whenever his graceful Imperial features remind her of that fateful night. Well, mostly. For a long time there had been something hidden plaguing him too, and the two maintain an unspoken 'don't ask, don't tell' agreement. She respects him, likes him even, and is terrified of what would happen if he ever knew the truth.

Her favourite place to calm her ragged thoughts is the Sanctum gardens, and she can often be found quietly basking under Soleil's baubles of sunlight. Over time the two started talking, and discovered a shared love for fresh honey. Although Aduial had no experience in beekeeping, eventually Soleil convinced her to join him on his rounds, and she's helped him with the hives ever since. Tucked away in the gardens, she sometimes reflects on the strange path her life has taken - from death to abominations to bees. But nestled safely under the warm glow, Aduial's decided she'd quite like to stay where she is.

She still remembers it in painful detail. But then, how could she forget. Even after so many years of extinguishing life, that warm summer evening she knew something was not right. The Imperials fell beneath her blade like so many before, barely uttering a cry as her dagger found it's mark deep within the scales and warm flesh. She had just finished off the youngest, a mere hatchling - it always sickened her with those so young - when she noticed it. A deep rumbling, but not the sort any earthly creature could make. This... this was something else entirely. The air itself trembled, the noise building in momentum and volume until it was at its blinding crescendo....

Then, silence. The Sunbeam Ruins held its breath in anticipation for what it knew came next.

With a deafening roar and crash of marble cracking, the creature burst out of the small cottage that once held the imperial family. With burning eyes, the heads of the monstrosity turned to the dark nocturne frozen over the now lifeless body of the youngest dragon. It took an ungainly step forward, supporting it's seething mass with multiple distorted limbs. The body of the youngster convulsed, writhing as a huge claw from the abomination reached out and pulled it closer. Soon flesh was melding with flesh, and the doleful eyes opened once more as what remained of the deceased hatchling let out a plaintive, yet unearthly, mew.

The world cracked.

She barely had time to register what she had witnessed, what she had created, when survival instincts kicked in and she took the the air. Despite it's size and unnatural strength, the Emperor was not fast and the twisted amalgamation of wings certainly prohibited it from flight. Tails lashed out and flattened trees and buildings alike as it's target and creator darted out of reach, jaws snapping and shrieking. It tried to chase after her, but she was quick, and the abomination got tangled on it's own warped limbs and could only bellow in fury as she fled into the darkening sky. Other dragons soon came flooding out to see the cause of all the commotion, only to turn back in horror at the sight of it. A member of the Lightweaver's guards, by chance, stumbled onto the scene. Knowing he and all others in the Emperor's path were most certainly doomed, he sent out a blinding bolt of light to silhouette of the fleeing culprit, hoping to mark her out to his follow acolytes in the hope of some sort of justice. As the bolt hit it's mark, just before she fell unconscious from the evening sky into the river below, she turned back and saw the empty, black gaze of the four-headed monstrosity as it began it's rampage.
