One magenta eye aimed at the stars through the silver telescope, the other shut tight with concentration. Scribble, scribble, scribble, the sound of the guardian's pen is pure speed and determination. On the worn pages are observations, calculations, expectations, and declarations- someone tried to take these once, but the astronomer's strength when angry exceeded their expectations. Every night, this guardian is bathed in moonlight, her eyes filled with a billion wonders, her mind filled with their beauty. Questions form at every second, especially about constellations. Sometimes, next to her are the pearlcatcher or the skydancer, and once and awhile even the red-hooded guardian... they all seem to have similar imaginations. But even when there's seemingly nobody around, she's never quite alone. She's made friends with the celestial bodies that look down upon Sornieth's nations. Studying the stars, of course, is her occupation. And, I suppose, is what gives her a rather good reputation. That is, her reputation among the planets and moons and stars; I bet they appreciate her admiration. One day, she hopes to get a telescope with more magnification. Her old silver one often causes complications. And as glass on that silver one becomes more and more scratched and smudged, the more she has to rely on her illustrations. They're actually quite good, you can see she has qualifications. All in all, this guardian, the one with a crystal hide that matches the night sky-- Galaxia is her name-- all she wants are some explanations. |
