Castiel had come to the nature flight in the hopes of becoming at one with the world around him. He knew that he had some self-discovery to do, though he had never realized just how much. Upon arriving in Druantia's clan, he met the lovely Kirea with whom he thought he would be mated.

Before they even had one nest, he realized just how wrong he was. In swooped in another fae who caught his eye in seconds and…it was…a male? Castiel had been taken aback by the revelation. How could he be so attracted to a male dragon?

Desperate to prove himself wrong, Castiel had begun to spend more time with Separmint in the hopes that the feelings would fade to something more platonic. They didn’t, and Castiel was forced to face the truth. He was in love with Spearmint.

He worried for weeks about how to breach the topic with the other fae, but came up with no solution that he liked. The stress caused him to lose sleep. He would toss and turn in his nest until he woke himself up.

When Spearmint asked him what was wrong, Castiel blurted out his feelings. Spearmint didn’t respond, and Castiel was sure that he had made a fool of himself, that is, until Spearmint twined their tails together and told him, “Well it’s about time.”
