Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this mellow coatl wandered a little too far from her lair 103802, Orgetzu, and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

Nightshade is generally very calm and kind. She's happy to spend hours doing anything she can to help anyone and everyone. She's somewhat shy and reserved, and prefers to stick to small groups. She was content to just stay and play with the familiars and other hatchlings. She didn't really understand when Peaches kept hanging around her, but she didn't really think anything of it, either. He was fun to play with. She was really confused, though, when Peaches woke her up in the middle of the night and told her they had to run away. Nightshade didn't object, though, and just followed him into the night.

--

Night turned to day, and day to night. Night to day; day to night; over and over, and yet Nightshade continued to enjoy traveling with her friend. He would occasionally give her funny looks, or suddenly change their direction to avoid other dragons--"Dangerous," he said--but she was happy.

Until they were stopped in plague territory by three coatls: black as ravens, stinking of rot, hidden beneath cowls, and terribly, terribly frightening. They dragged Nightshade and Peaches to their lair, hauled them up the Rotrock Rim, to the very peak where their clan leader--Meiriona--would decide their fate.

Nightshade cowered behind Peaches as he pleaded their case; they hadn't intended to intrude, honest, please don't look at us like that, mistress necromancer, you're frightening my... friend. We'll leave you lot alone, don't worry, we just need a day to rest, that's all...

The slow, lazy grin that followed made Nightshade's heart freeze. Meiriona would allow them to pass... eventually. The two were dragged away, separated, and tossed to the lower slopes of the Rim where the lowest caste of dragons lived.

At least, that's where Nightshade hoped Peaches ended up. She found shelter with a wildclaw and snapper, who kept her safe enough until she was ready to be out on her own. Where they expected her to go was anyone's guess, but they at least taught her the basics of fighting and allowed her to keep a Bleak Birdskull Necklace for good luck...

--

Nightshade, after a lot of journeying, and stopping through several lairs to rest, found her way back home. She hoped that Peaches had returned, and was disappointed to find she was just a little too late. He had found his way home, but had left again soon after, hoping to find her. She was glad, though, to hear he was alright. She told everyone of what happened, and how they were separated. While they didn't approve of her running off into the night with him, they didn't scold her very harshly. She didn't know any better.

She stayed at her home lair for a while, and rested. It was nice being able to relax in the safety and comfort of her own home. But at the same time, she was worried about Peaches. She had learned a lot on her journey, including what love actually was, and she knew she didn't love Peaches. But he was her friend, and she wanted to try and find him and make him understand. And now that she knew what love was, she wanted to find someone she could love and settle down with.
As she was getting ready to leave, she found Fleck. He was another dragon who had come from the same lair as her, but his parents were no longer here. They ended up talking about their travels, and discussing their plans. They discussed how it might be nice to journey together for a while before going their separate ways. Nightshade wasn't sure if they would end up going together or not, but it was a nice thought.
