Dragons, for a little imagination. . .

The young dragon sighed in despair. As new to the world as she was, even she could tell something was terribly wrong with her mother. Her beautiful mother Satellite that was so happy to greet her and her sister into the world was now laying near motionless on the ground, her breathing shallow and slow. She longed for her father Phase, as scary as she saw him, to come and help them. She knew he was away doing something important, but what could possibly be more important than this? Although she was his spitting image as her mother had called it, she felt she was nothing like him. She wasn't nearly strong enough to help her mother as he could. She sighed again and lay next to her now sleeping mother, hoping he would come back soon.

Phase entered the den where his mate lay, breathing shallow. His aura was imposing and firm, but when his head tilted down to look at his children it somehow softened and he didn't seem as intimidating. He leaned down and lightly touched his helmet to Orbit and her brother's forehead in greeting. "Children, I am sorry I have been so long away." His voice was deep and seemed to be coming from everywhere. "Your mother is sick though, and I fear she may not recover. I have found you both new homes, it is time for you to start your own lives." He explained, tone almost regretful.

He took Orbit's brother first, allowing her to say goodbye to her mother while they left. He returned shortly, without her brother, and turned to her instead. "It will be okay, come with me." He said simply, escorting her to the mouth of their den. Standing there was a large dark-skinned centaur, but he seemed off, somehow. "This is a maren warrior, he looks like a centaur but his true for is that of a maren, and he will turn back once he reaches water. He'll escort you and look after you, your new home is in a water clan, so I'm sure his knowledge will be useful." Finally, Phase finished and picked his daughter up, setting her on the back of the maren, who smiled and nodded at her.

"Goodbye Orbit, be safe." And with that the maren started walking off, Orbit on his back.
