'AVIYAH
↠ Leader of Surgo-gat-Vurteda
↠ she/her

╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮

"With no malice they sing darkly;
And they told me that my song was lighter."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

'Aviyah is the leader and founder of Surgo-gat-Vurteda. She is extremely dedicated to her flight and wishes for complete Light dominance. She believes strongly in justice. Her clan originates from the Sandswept Delta, where they had lived in tents and the ruins of old buildings.

She cannot - or rather, refuses to - speak common draconic. The only time she speaks is in an unknown tongue and in song - the only one who seems to understand her is Torsa-Tentravki [need a new dragon] who serves as her voice, yet some coatls also claim to hear some of their own language in her songs. The runes on her wings are unintelligible to most dragons - the few that can understand refuse to say. True to her breed's nature, she is very haughty and thinks very highly of herself. She believes in justice above morals - she refuses to let a dragon get away with a crime without paying for it.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

'Aviyah was born on the borders of Hewn City and the Carrion Canyon. Her egg was stolen from her parent's nest by nearby harpies, who in turn had the egg stolen by a brigand of dragons. Growing up with this clan of thieves and assassins, 'Aviyah knew this life was wrong and was bullied by her peers for not enjoying their activities. One of the older retired dragons took pity on her and knew she wasn't destined for this life and would secretly teach her other skills and knowledge, as well as teach her of the Lightweaver. Over the years the torment got worse and she started to understand the true intentions of the clan, which only built up the anger inside 'Aviyah, vowing she would enact justice upon this clan someday.

Some years before adulthood, she finally got the chance to run away. She spent several years on her own, scavenging the many ruins laying waste in the desert and devoting herself to her birth flight, always looking for books and scrolls to expand her knowledge and discover the truths behind everything. It was but a few years ago she came across a nomadic Longneck clan who had recently been robbed by the very same clan she grew up in. Sharing her knowledge with the Longnecks, she helped create a map and aided them in an attack. The dragons could not expect such a thing to happen and were not prepared for an enemy that knew every corner on their lair, and all were slain swiftly, with the few survivors being taken in by other dragon clans to imprison for their deeds.

Satisfied that justice had been dealt, 'Aviyah continued her devotions to the Lightweaver, studying under multiple priests in multiple cities. 'Aviyah took a vow to never speak in the common tongue, believing it to be full of deceit, and only sings during her prayers in an ancient language.
