shadowv2.png He may wear a crown and sit upon the throne beneath the mountain, but he is not a king. He is no more than the eldest son of the now-dead Queen, and perhaps the best suited for the job of his many siblings. (Though if he is "best-suited", that is no compliment to his siblings, for he is ill-suited as well.)

His brother Adrian comes to him in his ice-cold throne room, the room that will never warm, and dips his head before him. "Your Majesty," he says.

"Don't call me that," the king spits, because what is he but a placeholder? They all know who the king is, and it isn't him. Not that he minds not having to call all the shots.

"O-of course," says Adrian, nodding quickly. The only sibling that doesn't mind calling Niblin by kingly titles is Ceinfryn, and that is only because she grew up with it. "But I… I was sent to tell you… we've got a problem with that Fire clan that's been giving us trouble."

"Tell the generals," the king says. "They'll know what to do."

Something in his voice tells his brother there is no arguing. The younger mirror leaves the cold, cold room and the fake king on his fake throne.
