Strong, quick-witted, he makes up the intellectual sector of his team with Levi and Isabel. He generally prefers using strategy over physical strength; however, hearing records of a former gang leader, his skills as a physical fighter are inferred to be quite strong. His general aura seems collected, with the occasional bits of hesitance, and constant self doubt; both his companions are aware of his pessimistic attitude which carries on with him throughout; His quarrels often come from his younger comrade, Isabel, will occasionally give off external hints to these weaknesses.


*** Clan Lore ***

Upon his travels, he encounters a child named Armin, whom he trains and takes under his wing as his apprentice, teaching the other Imperial the ropes according to his instincts and strengths. The pair make a relatively good team, and the younger of the two often finds himself lost in the various stories Farlan can teach him about the Underground and of his life down below.

Though his most interesting circumstance comes from a peculiar encounter in the Mire; during his regular sessions he encounters Peridot, an impish and rather arrogant Spiral tricked into being Boss Bait. Seeing no other place for the Spiral to go, he offered to take her back - though even after returning to his lair, she still suspects he may attempt to eat her (which the Imperial never has the desire to, and has to constantly dismiss her on such a phobia). It probably doesn't help that his loyal Goldenbeast companion, Seymour, is constantly at his side, whom is rather protective of Farlan and often stares said Spiral down when given the chance.
