"All together now! On the count of three begin to weave the Song in double time. When you hear the beat change, TienLung, lead the second refrain in counterpoint to the first," Lux smiled at the younger dragon, "Just like we practiced."
The Imperial dragon drew his breath and held it, puffing up his chest and waited for the change. Racing through his mind, he also prepared the Arcane Weaves that would let his magic wielding brothers and sisters know when to join in the Song directly. As the Song sped up,TienLung began the second refrain, strengthening and deepening the Song. The ethereal Echoes began to resonate and grow stronger, joining the other parts of the Melody.
"Now!" TienLung thoughts jumped out to the clan mages. At his command, pure magic spells and weaves joined in the Song, creating a glowing dome that surrounded the Mountain, the Forest and the Focal Point of the Isles. Scattered throughout the dome, the ethereal Echoes could be seen donning glowing armor and weapons. Continuing the Song, TienLung smiled as he thought to himself how clever it was to create active defenses that could protect their home even if the dragons were otherwise occupied.
"Now the Shadow beasts cannot reach our homes and nests," he mind-spoke to the others.
"Agreed, brother," Volan replied, "We may have to help the others when we are finished to ensure that no dragon falls to the Shadow. But we have many more layers to Weave yet."
