Agamemnon

The Trading Post was busy. Sonnet moved from booth to booth while Anscross, Makani, and Thari followed. They stopped to listen to a chocolate brown coatl playing a lute. They all dropped coins when he was finished. Soon after they moved on, they saw three mirrors moved past them to the musician’s spot.They turned and saw them form an arch around him. The center one spoke first.
“You sing pretty. But, your coins sing better. Maybe we should remove your competition?” He held out a paw for the coin box.
“Now, you wouldn’t want to take from a poor helpless musician down on his luck would you?”
He adjusted his stance.
“We three are down on our luck too. We think it’s very fair.
Sonnet began to move, but Anscross stopped her.
Quietly he said, “No, look at his stance. He’s trained. They are not”
She did and nodded. She had also noticed that he had moved his hand to behind his lute.
“Please,” He said a little less timidly. “Just leave and enjoy the day.”
“Maybe we should take his guitar too.” Said the one on the right.
“I don’t think so.” The coatl’s voice changed more as did his stance.
“Oh my!” Whispered Anscross. “They need to back off. He just switched to an eliminate stance.”
“He’s a trained eliminate fighter? Why is he playing for spare coins?” Thari whispered back.
Anscross just shrugged.
The mirror on the left reached for the lute. But, he received a cut from the stiletto that was hidden behind the lute instead. He cussed in pain as the other two rushed in.
Anscross also moved. He stood in front of the injured mirror to keep the fight balanced one to two.
Anscross was pleased to see that the musician was not only trained ,but clearly master level.
The tussle was short. The three wounded mirrors hurried away,
Sonnet moved up as Anscross was introducing himself. “And Agamemnon may I introduce Sonnet, she is part of Clan Inverness’ leadership triad.”
He bowed. “Honored.”
“As am I, If I may be so bold, would you mind walking with us a while? I may have a job opportunity for you.”


Agamemnon is a member of the Lulungomeena Defense Force, Ampezist Unit
and serves as one of the Gatekeepers for Clan Inverness and the island of Lulungomeena
and is minstrel to Sonnet.
