Miyuki First Leader | Motherly | Mature | Kind The First Leader of the Yuki Clan. Ryota is the Second Leader. PERSONALITY & BACKSTORY Miyuki is the leader of the Yuki Clan. She takes pride and responsibility as a one, and she speaks very formally. She is often seen as a mother of her Clan, because of her protectiveness and kindness towards her Dragons. Normally calm and collected, if Miyuki isn't helping the Clan, she sits beside the ocean at night - or in her own room, reflecting on life. She often pays attention to the Hatchlings. Occasionally she takes some of them under her wing, if she is to teach them how to make good decisions, or raise ones who seem to be going in the wrong path. Although she seems like she'd force them to go to on the right path, she likes to tell a few words of wisdom, then let the Dragon decide from there. Miyuki believes that even the most cruelest Dragons still deserve a chance at changing their mind.

Miyuki grew up in a Clan that was mostly made up of family members. They stayed in their small cave, hidden away because they were frightened of the horrors and dangers of the outside world. Her Clan always had a specific rule, "We do not search for new things to guard - but we guard our family." This rule was taught into Miyuki's family generation after generaton. Surprisingly, Miyuki used to be stubborn and rude, not how she acts today. She would often sneak away from the cave - exploring new places, collecting trinkets, and occasionally hunting. When Miyuki was but a young Dragon, she decided to run away - then to come back to her Clan to tell them that the world was not horrible nor scary. She then gathered her things, wrote a note to her family about where she was, and left her Clan. "Mother, Father, sisters, brothers and everyone from the Clan. I have to prove to you that the world outside is not cruel! You'll understand when I come back changed!" She then wandered and explored all of Sorneith - from the Windswept Plateau all the way to the Viridian Labrynth. Miyuki understood that while some Dragons are fierce and cruel, most are kindhearted and wise. Each Dragon has their unique thing about them - it could be something small, but it still made them different. She liked that especially, because she felt like her first Clan was all the same, with nothing different about them. When Miyuki was older, she traveled to the Windswept Plateau for the second time. Shortly after, she decided to live there, because she loved the culture, and really enjoyed the free-spirited and friendly Dragons. While Miyuki was cleaning out her Lair one day, a Dragon suddenly ran up to her, calling for her help. She followed the Dragon to a part of the thick bamboo forests, which she was not yet used to. When she reached the area, Miyuki saw why. A Guardian with dark black scales and seafoam-colored wings was laying on his side, a pool of blood forming at his chest. Miyuki didn't know how to heal, of course, but she lucky had extra bandges and some potions to help his wound. With the help of the other Dragon, they took the wounded Guardian to he nearest healer. After a few days, Miyuki returned to the healer to visit the wounded Dragon, to see if he was doing well. When she came there, it looked like he had healed quite well so far. The wounded dragon thanked Miyuki for saving him, and Miyuki said that it wasn't a problem. He said his name was Ryota and he handed her a beautifully crafted Gossamer Fillet as an extra thank-you gift. Ryota said that the Dragon who told Miyuki that he was in trouble made it for him. He decided that she would like it better, though. After this, Miyuki and Ryota talked often and they seemed to form a bond. They talked about their troubles and worries, shared gifts, and helped each other out. It seemed that Miyuki had found a happy life in the Windswept Plateau. Until the day it all fell apart. It started out as a small whisper through Sorneith... Everyone seemed to speak about, but in hushed voices... until Miyuki heard it. "The Southern Icefield's hidden Clans are finally gone! Now they won't plot against us again..." Once Miyuki heard that, she knew... She knew that one of those was her birth Clan. Miyuki didn't want to leave her life in the Plateau, it was peaceful, and she always felt happy when Ryota was around. But she had to go... if her family was still alive, she had to tell them... Quickly she gathered all of her items, and before she left her new life and her future mate, she left a note. "I do not wish to leave... But I must - for reasons I cannot say without guilt hanging over me. I am sorry my dear... We will meet again someday, I promise." Once again, she traveled back to her birth Clan in the Southern Icefield. But when she walked into the cave - there was nothing living. There were no bodies, but blood streaked the walls of the cave, and the eerie silence did not add helpfully to it. Miyuki felt a sadness fall upon her, like a heavy cloud that covered her heart. Her entire family... gone before she told them how happy the world really is... Maybe it wasn't happy - perhaps it was just her luck. Miyuki then stayed in the Lair to mourn the loss of her family for two weeks, only going out to hunt. It was a depressing time for her, and one she still thinks about today. After a long while, and the acceptance that her family is gone, but is still in her heart - she decided to make her own Clan. Not of family members, but of all Dragons from Sorneith who needed a home or ones who would be useful in her Clan. She decided that her Clan was her own family, not by blood but by the heart. Miyuki decided that every Dragon who joins the Yuki Clan, will be given a Wind Flight name (Japanese), and that she would care for every Dragon. She hangs up Wind Flight lanterns and ribbons to remember her peaceful life, and she lives in a cave to remember her birth Clan. Miyuki wanted find Ryota again, just as she had told him - no matter if he is completely different - she would someday return to him. But then she did. Ryota returned to her, but it took many years... He was traveling the icy tundra near Miyuki's Clan, searching for her. They soon reunited, and he was made the Second Leader, after he had gotten used to life in the Yuki Clan. They now live happily, and will soon have Hatchlings.

Miyuki formed the Yuki Clan after her birth Clan was destroyed. She had originally lived in Wind for a time, then came back to mourn the loss of her birth Clan. After a long while, she decided to create her own Clan, and honor her family's ways.

At the Great Two's lair, Miyuki and Ryota sat quietly on their nest, silently watching the Dragons in the Great Hall from above. A small gray and blue Fae paces quickly back and forth near the table in the hall.

Ryota furrows his brow in confusion. "Miyuki... who's Taki? You've never spoken about her before." He looks into her Icy blue eyes, confused. "You haven't had hatchlings before me, did you?"

Miyuki closes her eyes, and looks down at her claws, then nods slowly.

"When I had my first nest, I was not even aware of what happened. It felt like a dream - something I just had to do for the benefit of my Clan. I didn't love Yataro - my heart still was with you. But, as I was taught not to take in outsiders, I used to believe that a Clan started with the leader's firstborn, and went on from there.

Firstborn.

I normally sigh, thinking of that word. As I wanted to protect my Clan and it's new members, I did not notice her. I wasn't there for her hatching.

My firstborn - beautiful and perfect in all ways, yet..." Miyuki blinks a few times, clearing up the blurriness forming in her eyes. "I didn't even care. I always complained that I was busy - 'No, you feed her, I have to hunt. Do you want us to perish from famine?' and 'I don't have time to see the egg hatch - I'm busy with other things, alright?'.

Oh Icewarden... I just..." She shook her head. "I never bonded with her, and I practically forgot to give her a formal name. I left Yataro to raise her himself... I regret those days. I was so rash, so cruel sometimes. And I never knew it."

She looks down at Taki, now sitting on one of the rocky ledges, her nose stuffed into a book.

"I wish I knew her like Yataro did..." Miyuki sighs, "At least... she is content here now."

Makoto grins and jumps onto the ledge beside Taki, and nuzzles her cheek.

"Perhaps she will show her hatchlings love and care, like I did not."
