Biography

Before the crisp yellow rays leak over the horizon the world is grey and dull. The colors blend together in a churning froth unable to distinguish between leaf and ground. Lifeless the world seems afore its incredible rebirth under the warm light of dawn.
Genesis, named for the beginning, waits eagerly for the end, her precious childhood friend born of the Plague flight. She had little time to play with the child of her sibling Flight, Nyx, and is promised as his mate when they become adults. She is wary of their promised encounter, will her childhood friend be as she remembers him? Or will he be a true Plague Flight dragon, cruel and heartless? Her excitement and fear grows with the passing phases of the moon.

~~~~~~~~~~
Time passes and Genesis becomes inexplicably troubled within the close-knit nature clan. She has never truly fit in, not until a youngling named Shinto came to live with them. Shinto is quiet and intelligent, the perfect compliment to Genesis’ outgoing brilliance that turns many of the clan away from her.
In warm summer when the flowers were deep in bloom, Genesis was hiding in a corner of her self-dug nook in the cave while her spines were rejuvenating. She had recently borrowed a familiar from another dragon, only to have nearly every dragon in the clan start to panic over the missing companion. When Genesis was caught with the frightened little Sunset Lasher the majority of the clan became very angry. Esper and Natsune were enraged, as Echora is more lenient by far than the rest of Genesis’ co-leaders.
After a heated debate between the four leaders of the clan, Genesis was asked to leave by Esper. Natsune and Echora did not wish for her to leave, though they readily agreed with the matriarch Esper.
Genesis fled. Her powerful wings rush her onward, her eyes blinded with tears and her direction unknown. After a time of flying tirelessly the sun began to set to her right, giving her a semblance of direction. Below her the sunset lit up expansive grasslands in brilliant golden tones. She descends into a field of tall waving grass.
She warily explores the grassland for danger when she smells a faint, but familiar scent. Rage! In her excitement of smelling someone familiar she doesn’t use her exceptional intellect to realize that Rage is back at the clan’s home and she is nowhere near it.
Finding the source of the faint scent she realized what she should have already known. Rage won’t be here. His scent remains behind. She found Rage and Hoarfrost’s old clan grounds.
She had heard the stories told around Esper’s hearth, of how Rage and Hoarfrost fled from the disbanding wind clan and found Esper as a young adult, how Rage gave her the name of his old leader who left to serve the Windsinger, abandoning her clan.
The clan grounds were small, only suited for close to ten dragons to live there. There is a large stockpile of food that would last a clan the size of hers several weeks. She beds down in a hearth far back into the den, out of the wind and comfortably in an enclosed space.
She beings to miss the clan she calls home. Shinto, still just a youngling, will probably never remember her. Everyone else will quickly forget that she was ever there. She was never wanted anyway. The only reason she was made a co-leader while she was still a youngling was because she had exceptional intellect even then. She could easily outfly any of the dragons her size and dwarfed them in height. Even so she is the least respected member of the four clan leaders. They will easily forget her.
Genesis shivered as she huddles as far back into the cave as she can. The founders of the cave dug it just so the wind wouldn’t chill the inside, even so without others around the small cave it is lonely and cold.
~~~~~~~~~~

The early morning rays feel warm on her thick skin. Genesis crawls out of the shaded part of the cave and spreads her wings wide to soak up the warmth. Out of the morning fog a figure walks towards her. Smallish, with an iridescent sheen.

“Nyx!” Genesis finds herself shouting, she had never been so outspoken within her clan. They found her annoying as she was, raising her voice would make them dislike her more.

The small Pearlcatcher grins with a wide mouth. His red eyes vivid against his blue pearly skin and grey patterned wings. It was a near miss on recognizing him. Her inquisitive mind knew immediately how he had found her. She had passed Dragonhome in order to get to the Windswept Plateau and he followed her scent.

“Genesis, you're really here,” the young Pearlcatcher notes, “I have waited so long to see you!”

~~~~~~~~~~
The greenish gold orbs with twisting patterns of deeper green tones stand vivid against the grey speckled designs of Genesis’ wings. Nyx sits handsomely some space away tending to his newly lustrous pearl. It has been two days since Genesis laid two brilliant wind eggs, courtesy of the magic of the Windsinger. She could not be more proud. She finds herself singing as she makes her way to the nearby stream every morning while Nyx tends their eggs.
As her eggs matured the past two days she found herself calming, her anxiety over not fitting in with her clan evaporating. She began to miss them shortly after arriving at Rage’s old clan grounds, and the more she stayed the more she missed all of her clanmates.
The protective Esper and how she is always getting after everyone in the clan for not guarding their territory as much as they should. Rage incessantly darting around the cave trying to keep his familiar under control. Echora and her savage nature fighting with all her might to protect the clan from any dangers. Then there is little Natsune diligently doing everything he can to protect and raise the clan’s younglings.
She wished she had Natsune here to help her look after her precious little eggs. She makes up her mind, she will return to her clan with one of her hatchlings when her eggs hatch, the baby will be a reminder of her beloved Nyx though they will see each other again.
~~~~~~~~~~

Genesis lands quietly outside her own clan home. She is tired and her wings ache with fatigue from the long flight. She said goodbye to Nyx not too long ago as she dropped off her daughter, Zelda, with him at his own clan. She sets her son down gently, little Rime is exhausted and curls up on the dew laden grass outside the thicket.
Her presence is heard in the cold early hours. Dragons of familiar shapes and colors start to emerge from the shadows. Esper appears in a dignified manner. She is warm and welcoming, and despite Genesis' fears, happy to see her.
From the shadows the rest of the clan emerge, happy to see her and welcoming of her sky colored son.
Shinto, the one Genesis missed the most, is now a fully adult dragon. Genesis will see Nyx and her daughter Zelda again but for now she is happy to be home with her clan.

~~~~~~~~~~
On one muggy night Genesis took a lonely flight to see the Gladekeeper. "Keeper," she pleaded, "my dear Nyx expects me soon to visit in the clan of Danerys. I wish to surprise him, would you bless me with the gift of new color, and new form?" The Gladekeeper's vines quivered with excitement as she recalled the love story between the two. "It shall be done." Her woody voice responded with creaks and whispers of aged bark.
And so Genesis was blessed with wings and fur the color of the speckled sea, and a breast as wild as her fiery soul. Fur? Genesis looked at herself to find short, feathered wings and a long, snake-like body. She had been blessed with the likeness of the elegant, and small, Coatl breed. The world had grown around her. She now matched Nyx closely in size, and even closer in hearts. "Nyx, here I come." She said in an over-awed voice, her eyes distant with hope and a dash of fear.
And so she leaves the company of the Gladekeeper to visit the clan of Danerys, her beloved Nyx, and her children that reside there with him.
