- A M A T E R A S U -

In her earlier life Amaterasu was a kind and gentle guardian welcoming all to the clan that sought refuge. But that was before her curse took hold of her. A traveler came to the clan and sought refuge from the stormy weather…this traveler would soon reveal a dark gruesome past. When rumor reached the matriarch about the traveler she came down to the coastal cave that the stranger made a temporary home in. She arrived at the cave entrance to heard strange noises that shouldn't be in the cave, were coming from inside.

She entered the cave, wandering to the back where the stranger was hovering over a small figure. The stranger whipped his head around and his face was revealed to be a dark and crazed imperial hunched over a low fire. This imperial spoke to Amaterasu in a raspy tone, “Is there something you needed great leader”. With a wry grin he moved to reveal a hatchling at his feet and a caldron that was now a crimson in color. After the view, Amaterasu saw she understood enough that this was a dangerous dragon, one she let into the clan and sacrificed a hatchling. With a loud roar she charged at this imperial in retaliation for sake of this hatchling. However, the dark dragon already saw this coming, and had moved the ladle that was in the caldron and flung it at the leader.

Amaterasu was frozen as the boiling liquid flew at her. In an attempt to rid herself of the liquid she swung her head back and forth. “There is just something about the Wind Flight, and how gullible they are to those in need. Maybe after this, you’ll think twice,” The imperial had begun chanting an old verse, one that she did not recognize. By the time her vision cleared the Imperial vanished and all that remained was a dark chuckle and a thick fog where he stood. When the fog cleared, it appeared as though the cave was spinning before she collapsed.

Vitr, her apprentice in training rushed to the scene shortly after hearing the roar. However, when she arrived, the Imperial was already gone and her mentor had collapsed. By the time Vitr arrived the damage had been done and it appeared as if her mentor was no longer with them but with the deity. Musashi, along with Viper, and a couple other warriors, helped moved the hatchling and Amaterasu so that preparations could be made. Amaterasu was moved to her cave so Khione could examine her as well as give blessing to her passing. With Khione being a Seer, she was able to see a strange aura hovering over their leader; one that was dark and unwelcoming. Khione announced to the clan that their leader was not gone, but in a trance of sorts, and only time would tell when she would rise again.

After an entire moon cycle had passed, Amaterasu still had not stirred, some of the clan members had begun to worry. Others began to doubt Khione's ability of being a Seer. When a moon and a half had passed visible signs began to show. Their leaders; tail and head had begun to split in two and her wings appeared to melt. By the next moon Amaterasu, was in a way, reborn and took on an unfamiliar form. The other clan members didn't know how to react. The next half moon rolled around, and she began to stir and regained some consciousness. Jolting awake, Amaterasu was now seeing more than she had before, as well as gaining another conscious. She rushed to the back of the cave, where a gentle stream constantly flowed and peered at her reflection.

Amaterasu stared at her new self with mixed emotions. Soon enough Khione appeared with Vitr for their check up, stopping in their tracks when they saw she was a wake and looking different. "W-What has happened to me?" Amaterasu spoke out in a broken tone while looking at her fellow clan members; alarm in her eyes. After a few months the clan's leadership shifted to Vitr, as Amaterasu felt she was unfit to lead after the incident. Though others might disagree with her about that.

However, change was good for the clan. After that a new stranger had come joined the clan, despite being of an odd breed, and yet looking like their previous leader, this stranger stayed. Living within the clan, this stranger brought loads of joy. Their name was Iseul, most viewed him as a blessing from the deity. He encouraged Amaterasu to be unashamed of who she was and embrace the change.

To this day Amaterasu is recovering, but will never truly be her old kind and gentle self. Iseul, however, will be there to guide her and help her as both her mate, and also the strength she found when she was at her lowest.
