The Exiled Saviour

She could have saved her village. She could have made sure she wasn't the last of her kind to survive the attack on her home. She could have become a hero.

If only her village knew that before they exiled her from her homeland.

Kelder was born in a land known as the Golden Isles - A series of 9 connected islands, home to a small nation known as Tasmal. Their people were peace-seeking, and their lands held many a valuable material which made them ideal for kngdoms seeking trade. The Golden Isles were best known for their treasures and magical relics however, which often made them a target to more corrupt individuals seeking power.

Kelder knew her parents were not all they seemed to be. Others in her village seemed to either fear or praise them, and they were always secluding themselves - And Kelder - From the others. Due to this, Kelder never got to have a proper childhood, and never got to meet the other children. She snuck out the house at nights, finding excitement in even the most basic of things.

However, one night, a dragon attacked the village. It burned down houses, and killed many. Kelder saw it with her own eyes. She ran home, only to find her father missing - With only his pendent left behind. He always wore his pendant - As did his mother, who had one identical. Her father was missing for weeks.

The isle's guards found her father, and immediately accused him of the dragon's attack. Kelder refused to believe it - Until it was revealed those pendants her parents wore were enchanted. They allowed them to control their natural forms - Those of dragons. It all became too much for the young girl, and the anger and distress is what triggered her genetics - And thus, her inner dragon form was awakened. She hid away in fear of herself, but was found. Kelder and her parents were taken to the isles' prison meant for the worst, most sadistic monsters. Her parents were killed before her very eyes, the cause being poison-tipped arrows. Her fate was fare more cruel though. They let her live. They bound her magic in her bracelets, and banished her. They banished her not only off the islands, but to another realm. Years after however, one of the kingdoms used dragons to conquer their lands. The isles had no chance, without a dragon of their own. By banishing Kelder and killing her family, they doomed themselves and got rid of the only people who could save them.

The realm she was banished to was large. She took note of what people called it - "The Enchanted Forest". She had nothing there. No money, no shelter, no food - But she found herself in a port-side town. She resorted to theft. Her arrest was inevitable. However, fate had another plan for Kelder. Someone helped her escape. A man cloaked in dark robes, who had a certain strange aura to him. He introduced himself as Caspian - Captain of a ship known as the Fallen Crow. He had heard of her thievery. He had also sensed her bracelet's magic at work, and knew of her curse. He knew she was a dragon. He explained to her many a thing - Such as the power of his magic, and the forms he had taken over his lifespan of thousands of years - Gryphon, human... Even dragon. He wanted to help her, to show her a better life. So, with the offer of work on his ship given to her, she graciously accepted - And became Kelder, First Mate of the Fallen Crow.
