"Catch me if you can!" Phoenix cried, her small red and blue wings catching the sunlight. "Wait!" Haki cried, stumbling forward. Suddenly Phoenix turned around and grew up in fast motion, tiny wings catching the air, and cuteness blooming into beauty. "Who are you?" she cried in fear and anger. "Go away! I don't know you." Haki took a half-step towards her. "It's me. Haki!" he cried.
Phoenixs eyes flashed in anger "Imposter!" she screeched, sending a tendril of shadow at him. She attacked him furiously, with no mercy. "You look nothing like Haki! Haki betrayed me, he let my clan be killed and let me be sent away. I hate him I hate him I hate him!" Haki curled up into a ball. the dragon he loved, the dragon he had searched for ever since she was sent awya, hated him and was trying to kill him. Sighing, he unfolded his wings, and prepared to let her kill him. If she hated him, then it was better to die than live a life without her. She shook him, hard. "Haki, Wake up!" she said, in Eljuan's voice. Haki shook his head, had he heard wrong? Suddenly the wolrd around him disappeared as he opened his eyes. Eljuan was staring at him concernedly.
"Nothing." Haki laughed shakily "Just a dream."
"Not a very good dream." Eljuan replied. "By the looks of it."


Phoenix's real family and Haki's were very good friends. When they were young, Haki and Phoenix were friends, and they promised that they would be together when they were older. Then, tragedy struck, and Phoenix's clan was killed. Phoenix was whisked away, and joined another clan. Haki was heartbroken and vowed to find where she had gone. He wandered throughout Sornieth, asking every dragon he met if they knew a young skydancer named Phoenix. Eventually, on the edge of the Tangled Wood, he ran into a nocturne named Marusya. The nocturne, who was from the NightShiver Clan, said he knew of a young female skydancer named Phoenix, who was blue and orange and red. She was adopted into the Clan Passion, and lived there still. Joyfully, he learned where the Passion Clan resided, and hurried there. When he got there, he was not disappointed, and he found Phoenix there, now a teen, even as he himself was. They were overjoyed to be together again, and Haki moved to the Passion Clan, taking his best friend, Eljuan, with him.
