Red Tide

The Shade is everywhere. Even the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Legend has it that if the Shade touches certain nests and the Hatchlings survive, they come out able to survive in even the worst conditions the Sea can throw at them. These hatchlings are almost bloody in appearance and love to play in the rushing tides.

Legend also has it that where these dragons go, a strange algae follows, that can build and bloom and rob the water of what the others need to survive and wipe out entire clans overnight. As if the very air had been sucked from the water itself.

But that's just superstition, right?
