S T R A N G E

Sudden as a lightning strike, there is complete and utter darkness. Then, an unrecognizable voice, calm and gentle.

"Welcome... we've been expecting you."

Quickly opening his eyes, the Bogsneak being called to jerks awake, looking around in confusion.

"Where the HELL are we? I-"

He stops, his mouth trapped mid-sentence. He is nowhere, in nothing, just blank white space. In front of him stands a beautiful Skydancer whose feathers shimmer in and out of existence, adorned in sweet smelling roses. She gives him a kind look.

"In time. Someone wishes to see you..."

Now even more baffled, the Bogsneak collects his thoughts. As soon as he decides he's done, he asks a very important question.

"Er... what's my name?"

The Skydancer continues to smile warmly, and after a few last moments, appears to fade from existence. Not sure what to do next, the Bogsneak takes a step forward- and promptly trips on something invisible, sending him flying through the white void. He bangs his head on something large and brown, knocking himself out.

"Papa? Papa!?"

Instinctively, the Bogsneak reached up to rub his head, groggily awakening from his surprise slumber. "Wha?"

As his eyes adjusted, a new figure came into focus. Another Bogsneak, much smaller than him, with a faded old blindfold covering her eyes. She looked, how you say, extraordinarily distraught.

"What in Shadowbinder's name happened to you!? Why are you HERE!?!?"

____He simply shrugged. "Dunno. Who are you, and why do you keep calling me papa? And if you know me, mind telling me my name while we're at it?"

The blind dragon fell utterly silent. Tears formed, beginning to soak her eye cover.

"Papa... C-Corvo. Your name. I-I'm Marilyn..."

_Wait..._

Immediately, "Marilyn" tackle hugs the disoriented Bogsneak, sobbing into his chest. Her choking voice stops suddenly, and her body shudders. Corvo winces in slight pain.

"P-papa? Why... why is part of your neck missing?"

____Corvo, confused, took a single glance at his own neck and passed out. A startled Marilyn fell down with him, crashing against the barely stable ground. The smaller Bogsneak slowly let go of her sleeping father, summoning a dark ribbon that fluttered into existence before her. Gently wrapping it around her papa's neck, she tied it with a glimmering bow, hoping he wouldn't be too angry about it. Surely his memories would return soon... right?
