Biography

Grigori
Founder
Mate: Lithium

Grigori lay motionless. A large, brown and pink guardian nudged her checking for any sign of life. She was clearly very injured and had loss consciousness due to bleeding so profusely. However, something had drawn him to the bright-colored mirror dragon; had she been what he had been looking for this entire time? He felt unbelievable sorrow at the idea that she had passed away, but he couldn't have failed his charge before he even realized he had found it... had he?

Just then, she had begun to stir. His heart filled with newfound hope, he began to push her even more enthusiastically. Shoving his head underneath one of her arms and pushing her to lay on her back he had now taken notice to the amulet that had encircled neck. It was a beautiful deep red gem encased in a gold frame and even under the ash-covered skies of the Ashfall Waste it glistened intensely. Even though he had admitted to himself it was beautiful, it filled him with great unease.

The mirror opened her eyes to see the large guardian above her and tried to push away onto her own talons only to recoil violently in pain and fall down just a few feet away.

"Who are you?" she questioned the male while breathing heavily, "If you're here to finish me off then just do it already!"

The guardian held up his arms in surrender, "I'm not here to hurt you," he began, "I just happened to find you and I want to help."

The mirror gave him a skeptical look as he grabbed a potion from a bag hanging around his body.

"Please take this," he said as he offered the liquid.

She continued to stare at him for a few moments until he got the idea: She didn't trust a stranger enough to drink an unknown liquid. Big surprise.

"All right... look," he gestured to himself as he brought the bottle to his own mouth and took a sip, "I promise it's just a healing potion," and he pointed it back in her direction.

Just as he was questioning to himself if she was really going to be as stubborn as to not accept it, she took it into her own hands and took a swig, "I suppose it's not like I have much more to lose at this point," Grigori remarked sadly; her eyes downcast.

"What do you mean by that?" he inquired dumbly, "Surely you have a clan or a pack that you're part of?"

He was met with silence for a moment, and then she looked towards the bottom of the hill on which they stood. As he followed her line of sight, he understood. Down there lay several bloodied mirror corpses that he had not seen before. How had he not noticed? "No," she finally replied.

"What even happened here?" he asked incredulously.

"My pack was attacked," she answered simply, "And I have nobody to thank for it but myself."

"What do you mean?" he continued to pry.

"It has everything to do with this," she pointed to her neck; the shiny trinket that he had made note of before dangling there, "it's cursed and so nothing but misfortune follows me and my kin."

The guardian stared at her, his heart heavy with the implications that his newfound charge had told him. This information had hit him hard and it was being difficult trying to sort out his emotions.

He took a deep breath to try and calm himself, "So how do you break this curse?" She doesn't even know that he's already decided to protect her with everything he has, but he knew that he would be joining her for the long haul.

"I don't know, all I know is that the pendant can be passed along the generations if the holder so choses. Not that the holder really matters; their whole family is cursed with misfortune. So you shouldn't get involv-"

"I'm here to help," he interrupted her, "and there's no way you're going to stop me."

She looked incredibly perplexed as to why a stranger would offer himself up like that, and so adamantly too. Just who was this dragon?

And that's exactly what she decided to ask him.

"My name is Lithium, and you're going to be seeing a lot from me from now on."
