Eprene is the custodian of the nests and hatchlings, taking care of them until they are fully grown. She loves her duty, and will never stray from it unless someone temporarily takes her place. Even then, once shes rested up, she will quickly return to the nesting grounds. She isn't the strongest, but she will fight to protect the young ones if need be, which she has had to do in the past.
Like Dezin, her father, she despises violence, and will only resort to it when its the only way to protect herself, and more importantly to her, the nesting grounds. She is a slight clean freak, always bathing when she wakes up and cleaning up all the time after the hatchlings. When the nesting grounds are empty, she has a bad habit of going off and drinking quite a fair bit of wine, and the last time this happened, she landed herself three of her own hatchlings, Cousat, Zembls, and Tracer. Despite them being to a Fae that she has no romantic relations with, she loves all three of them with all her heart. All three had left the clan, one to protect another clan, the other to serve the lightweaver. The third, Zemblas, his situation is unknown. As mentioned before, she only sleeps when another dragon takes over her work, and only briefly. Due to her lack of sleep she is often fatigued, and can be counted as one of the weakest in the lair. She was originally from the shadow domain, but did not like the cool shade and mist that she grew up in, nor did she feel that she was needed there. Many lairs had everything running smoothly, so she wandered for a while. She has not got a good sense of direction, so in looking for the sunbeam ruins, she found her way to the Wandering Contagion, where she was found by Sephtis in a weakened state, overcome by viruses. Since she was found, she had stayed in the lair ever since, believing that she owes her life to him for if she had not been found, she would have been a goner. Her Psywurm familiar Jaunt, although he sleeps through most hours of the day, he actually helps her a lot by letting her know when one of the hatchlings are getting into trouble or are hurt without her noticing, as rare as that is. Jaunt often picks out books for Eprene to read to the hatchlings to put them to sleep. |
