Biography
Prismatic
King | Color | Sparkles | Love Betrayed Misunderstood Still Sparkling Although Prismatic denies any connection that he can to his birth flight, it still shows in his ties to the clan he has adopted. Lightning wit in tandem with Arcane curiosity have woven together over the years, and if a single word were to be applied to Prismatic, it would be “visionary.” The colorful dragon may not wield deadly finesse in politics, but he seeks to lead his adoptive clan into better days and a better state of mind. Whereas the pearlcatcher was once rejected for deviation, he finds he is now at home in the company of fellow stargazers. Just as they look into the past above them, together, he finds himself looking towards the future and what he can do for his loved ones.
Lore by SeleneHime.
They called him a fool for wearing clothes like these, laughing in his face and poking at his wings. Clad brilliant and shimmering garb from head to toe, he was rather hard to miss. And with a name like ‘prismatic’, who would forget him? He dressed himself in colours that resembled those of a rainbow, all glitter and sparkle. He couldn’t quite bring himself to blame his fellow workers, though. They themselves wore old work-dragon apparel: worn and tattered trousers to that blended in with the dust and the dirt of the Shifting Expanse. But he didn’t want this. He wanted more. The grinding and hums of the machinery in the factory that he used to work in was deafening, and it wasn’t uncommon to accidentally step in puddles of grease or motor oil. There was a reason why dragons didn’t wear dress their best when working in the Stormcatcher’s domain. When a work day was over, he’d stumble to a tiny cave he called home, his clothes now ragged and tattered and covered with dirt and Stormcatcher-knew-what-else. He pretended not to notice the sharp barbs and comments that his co-workers snapped at him, so he always left with his nose in the air, doing his best to keep away the falter from his step and the sadness from his eyes. Sometimes, he didn’t succeed. They called him ‘brave’. He still isn’t sure if they mean it or not. Lightning dragons can be a cruel bunch when their claws aren’t occupied. Yet still he tendered his resignation, handing it to his superiors who, in turn, looked at him with barely concealed pity in their eyes. But this time he didn’t let his misery peek through the gaps. And as he wrote the letter—a formal one, one that apologised for causing inconvenience and asking to leave—he swore to himself that he would never return. This dark and stormy place was not his home. It had never been. They call him a leader, now. He shrugs and laughs when they do, dipping his head slightly in modesty. But this role fits him. The Starfall Isles is a peaceful place, full of dragons who keep their heads in the clouds and their minds further up. No laughter follows him as he walks—this kind of garb is not uncommon at all. And as he strides through his lair (his lair. This is his), a spring in his step and a shine in his eyes, he looks like a completely different dragon entirely. There is no hunch in his shoulders and no trace of defeat in the curve of his spine. And now he leads a clan. There are dragons that look to his judgement, and those who respect his decisions. He doesn’t seem to notice the bits of Lightning that leak through, though. The clan runs like a well-oiled machine, albeit a happy one. He may not be much in the way of a true Lightning dragon, but the stars in the sky have never quite held his attention the way the others were. He’s as down-to-earth as it gets, keeping the clan in shape and ensuring that everyone is safe. In a way, he’s quite happy that he’s found his peace. And it is right here.
