Exiled Commander

Once one of the clan founders, a proud commander, and the one with whom Shadowdancer originally mated with, Ramaz struggled to keep up with the clan's sudden expansion beyond the Starlit Isles, and soon found himself left behind — when the clan moved to the Windsinger's territories, he did not move with them.

This was, in fact, because Shadowdancer had ordered him to stay behind. She called him weak, and said that his remaining with the clan weakened all of them. This wounded him, and made it far easier for him to leave.

For the years he was separated from the clan, he trained against the beastclans, pushing them back from other dragons' territories as an unnamed protector, pitting himself against any odds to grow his own strength. Though he sustained many injuries, his bones and scales healed stronger and thicker. The hues of his hide shifted as scar tissue healed over with scar tissue, and his scales were painted and inked magically by one tribe he encountered in the Tangled Woods, after winning a difficult trial by combat.

When he finally tracked his old clan down, they were headed through the Scarred Wasteland, making pilgrimage towards the Wyrmwound to seek the gifts of survival from the Plaguebringer and her children. It was then that he came to understand why his old mate had pushed him out so hard; before, his scales and hide would have bowed to the dangers within this land. The clan had grown powerful, and used knowledge, insight, trickery and strength to survive in the Wasteland.

Shadowdancer welcomed him back into the clan with no contention. This had been her plan all along.
