Finn

Finn lived out his childhood on the very edge of the Tsunami Flats. His parents--who at the time were recent immigrants from the driest regions in Sonreith--didn't feel any immediacy in exposing their youngling to water. But as time passed and the family settled in the Flats, Finn's Ridgeback nature kept him from ever fully adapting to aquatic life. He was often bullied for his hydrophobia and reluctance to catch his own food. Through the use of breed scrolls, Finn's parents had overcome their own fear of the ocean, but their son had long decided that the Sea of a Thousand Currents could never be his home.
Upon reaching adulthood, Finn journeyed to his mother's homeland in the Shifting Expanse, where he again found himself an outcast among the Ridgebacks whom he'd expected to find kinship with. His aquatic powers kept him pushed out of engineering circles and far away from important machinery. Feeling just as useless as before, Finn flew to the nearby Ashfall Waste, a dry land that was nonetheless intimidating for the fearsome reputation of its inhabitants.
Luckily for Finn, his father's old clan is more warm than fiery. Marcelo readily welcomed the newcomer with open arms. This decision was not made solely from goodwill. Tentatively, Finn's begun using his watery abilities to cool smoldering weapons as they emerge from the clans' forges, trying to become comfortable with his abilities little by little. Finn's spent his whole life feeling worthless by running from his fears. With this new oppurtunity, he plans to end that cycle.
