Theme: Undead Funeral March

This one is so old...I don't know if I want to change it. It's the first one I had ever written. Anywhere.

Seriously...I am not exaggerating here.

The favorable temperatures and relatively clear air of the Tangled Wood had convinced Lynx of the idea that today's hatching may, at last, prove...normal. But, as usual, there was an oddity among the new generation of his lair. Typical.

The nest had belonged to two pearlcatchers, Asygii and ZylKyrr(which they had
both desired to allow some of their hatchlings the honor of serving the clan deity),
and as such the eggs had resulted with three of that breed. One had been immediately given the name of Journey, he wished to travel long and hard, alone, to
the deity of the clan, the gloomy dragon known as Shadowbinder. The other had
absolutely insisted the Shadowbinder to bestow his name, that of which Lynx has
of yet to receive word of.

It seemed that the hatchlings were quite enthusiastic to serve the shadowbinder,
save for the last. Bugsy as he is called now, but the idea originating not from his
parents, Lynx, or any other dragon in the lair, but from himself. He had
inadvertently crushed and insect in his early days of life, thus considering the name
genius, an idea no amount of coaxing could erase. He carries himself oddly, not in
a limp or other injury-related gait, but a peculiar one, where it seems he has chosen
that posture and cannot be convinced to change it. His mouth is almost always
turned to a bizarre grin, his tongue just visible between his two lips. He does not
carry his pearl, oddly enough he seems confused as to why he should. Instead, he
carries with him a jagged rock, or any other item he deems worthy at the time, that
item sometimes becoming anomalies such as a small creatures skull.

As many things as there are wrong with this particular pearlcatcher, Lynx just
cannot find it in him to exalt him, perhaps it is his constant cheery mood, or his
generally odd behavior that somehow sets his clan at ease during times of tension.
It could just be that he has grown attached to this 'pearlcatcher', who acts as though
he were a different breed altogether, considering his astonished, sometimes apathetic
thoughts to the existence and current state of his own pearl.
