Biography

Sunburn
Radiant Bugbeast

WNlFDdf.png
Careful. This odd creature's mane is soft and soothing to the touch, but run your fingers down too far through it and you may have a severe burn on your hands—or at least hand. Blue radiance signals the danger zones of these superheated pockets, wherever they may appear upon its body, though this vibrant hue can shift or disappear at a moment's notice. Apparently, it has even been rarely known to release an intense blue glow from its entire body, flaring its wings out and lifting its head and tail in order to put on a majestic, intimidating appearance. Only situations of extreme stress seem to trigger such episodes, however, and otherwise the bugbeast seems to have little control over its random hotspots.

Despite the dangers associated with touching it, Sunburn is a cuddly beast. Its kind often wander into dragon villages, trilling and clicking and rubbing up against the legs of the first new friend they find. According to reports from dragons who returned affectionate gestures, they produce an incredible adorable cooing sound during bonding time. They have also displayed remarkable intelligence, being able to understand dragons' attempts at communication through gestures and verbal repetition; bugbeasts display great curiosity and will even attempt to mimic words/motions displayed to them. Because of this, many dragons have sought to take bugbeasts on as pets. However, distressingly, this phenomenon has also lead to a drastic increase in the number of burned couches across Sornieth.
