nameless was spited by another female, her pearl snatched and destroyed. all over another's wandering eyes, another's flirtations, another's un-reciprocated actions. without a purpose in life, her sadness took a descent into fury. in an act of revenge, many moons after the fact in which she spent spat at, demeaned, and looked at as less than, she attacked. the hatchlings, eggs, and pearls of the clan were destroyed and devoured in the night after a long celebration she knew would leave the denizens distracted and uneasily woken. her rage knew no bounds, the pearlcatcher feeling she had nothing to lose and everything to gain, and she did not relent until there was nothing left. in the morning they found the remains, and the frail female covered in the guilt and evidence of her betrayal in their eyes.

otrera found her then, following the trail of death like a bloodhound on the scent of prey. the sound of frantic footfalls followed by a screaming, despairing crowd finally reached her ears, amusement leading her onward. what could have caused this rage; just one small creature, barely making sound despite their panicked path? though it was sickeningly sweet and overpowering, she had assumed it was the tiny females death that overwhelmed her senses. upon finding her, though, gasping and weeping on the shore, her confusion sparked. it seemed the death was on her, of her, not for her. in a moment of possibly weakness or just piqued curiosity, the mob coming closer by the milisecond, otrera swooped down and scooped her up.

it wasn't until they'd returned to her hovel, just draeka waiting, that she released her and began to pry. the imperial did not feel her going limp, he breathing going from hyperventilation to calm to almost absent. nameless did not realize who's claws she'd fallen into, and she wouldn't for a long time. it was as if she went into an emotional coma, catatonic and in seemingly in shock, and she simply curled into herself once she was placed back on solid ground. otrera sniffed huffily, clearing not going to receive the information she sought at the moment. it troubled her, though, deep into the night and coming days. that moment. why had she scooped her up, what was that odd feeling in her chest? protectiveness? is that was draeka felt? it made her sick.

NAMESAKE/ETYM.— nameless. given name is lamia, but she has since either renounced all ties to her past, or her mind has locked the memories away. when asked her name, she will just shake her head, almost appearing confused at the question.
