Anapa Psychopomp |
Ahh the male sighed inwardly. Fire motes swirled around him, as he watched the young dragon make her declaration again "I want to serve the LightWeaver. I want to be exalted!" She proclaimed, with more force this time. Nodding, his jewelry clacked together, a metallic tone accenting the air. Once a dragon made their decision, Anapa had little say in the matter, all he could do was help them with their preparation. Walking to his den, he motioned for the Coatl to follow him. Feeding and dressing the young dragon's wounds, he looked over her. She was a strong dragon, young and powerful, working as a warrior for her clan. She was the type who would altruistically give her life for anything. His best guess is she thought she could help better after being exalted. Personally, he didn't think exalting one's self made them any fitter to serve their clan, but he supposed it was for the greater good. Leading her deeper into his den, he paused. "Are you sure this is what you want?" he asked, pausing before a curtain made of moss and lichen. She nodded enthusiastically, Anapa nodding back. Ensuring his mask was secure, he pulled back the curtain, a bright light busting from the room, blinding the young Coatl. Stumbling back, she looked at him. "Go on, this is what you wanted." He said, looking away from the light. He knew well enough not to look at the light for long. He learned that in his training, it could do strange things to dragons. The younger dragon looked at him nervously, as he nodded again. More certain, she nodded back, taking a slow step towards the light. Silently she walked past him, into the light. A peculiar sound filled the den, somewhere between a hiss and a sizzle. It was typical, but he never got used to it. One day he imagined he'd like to see what was making the noise, but he was told in his training to never watch. He imagined this was for the best. Shaking his head, he quickly shut the curtain.

Anapa is the psychopomp of the Lux Shimmer clan. He helps to guide the souls of those who wish to be exalted on toward the LightWeaver. He'll be honest and say he's not entirely sure what his duty entails, but he's still feels very strongly about it. He's an honest dragon, although he's often rather shy and isn't quite sure how to approach others. Due to his job, some of his clanmates see him as a bit pompous, although this certainly isn't the case, only that he gets rather anxious dealing with people when it's not job related. He secretly yearns to be like Innya, fun and carefree. He actually feels quite strongly towards Innya, unsure if it's just idealization of something else. |
