Caer
The Scholar
Caer is infected with a strange variant of Gembond that is not only painful, but deadly. It makes her body as rigid as stone and in time, could render her a statue of pure opal. After contracting the affliction through an Opal Cobra's bite, it quickly spread to over 36% of her body. It is only through Cemlyn's efforts and strange medicinal teas that the growths have slowed. Despite her movement being hindered and the knowledge that she will eventually be consumed, she does not dwell in sorrow. Instead, she spends her time reading every bit of material that she can, spending hour upon hour with her snout deep in a book. After each day she coats her pearl in a new layer in the hopes that after she has passed, it may remain as a condensed library for those she leaves behind.
