Malchaka was born on what his tribe calls the "Day of Void" - a day where the whole world freezes and nothing supposedly happens. The tribe elders call it a miscalculation by the oldest gods, their only known error in the invention of time. The Day of Void only happens every four years and is marked by a hole in the tapestry of life.

Sometimes though, very rarely, an egg hatches on this day, this day of nothingness. The hatchling reportedly has powers over time itself, freely manipulating the past, present and future to their whims. They are said to be Void-blessed.

Malchaka considers himself Void-cursed instead, because his powers has brought him nothing but endless strife and a life of being chased by those who wish to befriend him solely for his powers.

Malchaka never truly touches the floor with his ethereal limbs when he walks, just the slightest of cracks between him and the ground. He jingles like chimes in the breeze when he moves his head, although it is faint, as though coming from the space around him instead of his head physically. His neck, legs, arms, tail and wings are made of a strange, black, smoke-like magic that constantly moves.
