Biography

A hot wind howls through you
The True Hero stands forth

Only a Flambebe who is especially gifted has an inner spark that manifests in the form of a glimmering belly and horns. Flambebe such as this one are in perfect harmony with their element, able to create fire from the strength of their heart. The fires can be formed into physical weapons, such as blades, that can be used to defend themself. When they are especially impassioned, this dragon's belly and horns gleam brightly. This Flambebe is also incredibly charismatic and could charm the Stormcatcher into giving them a day off.

One might wonder where “Flambebes” come from. Tundras are hardly Fire Flight dragons, and in fact, one would think they would suffer in the Ashfall Wastes due to their thick coats. In fact, the ancestors of the Tundras did not always live in the Southern Icefield.
Long ago, in the Ashfall wastes, lived a species of dragon that was the ancestor of both Coatls and Tundras. They were built low to the ground, much like Coatls, but hadn't developed the longer, but thinner feathered wings of modern Coatls. These dragons fed mostly on fish, supplementing their diet with the sparse, tough vegetation found on the Ashfall Wastes. Most were colored in shades of blue, as this blended with the Sky along the coast and made it harder for fish to see them gliding overhead. They lived this way for millennia, until a great volcano erupted. The resulting explosion killed off a large portion of the population, and forced the dragons into different territory. Some migrated to the borders of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, Shifting Expanse, and Windswept Plateau. These migrants later moved back to the Ashfall Wastes and slowly evolved into modern Coatls. Another group, probably those with lairs close to the coast, flew in terror across the strait and onto The Southern Icefield, making landfall at the Snowsquall Tundra. The ash from the volcano had reached the waters even here, and made fish scarce. However, the Tundra had much more in the way of vegetation, which the dragons found easy to live on. Their rudimentary feathers became thick fur, and they began to grow taller (easier to wade through snow in winter.) until they became Tundras as we know them today. However, sometimes, a blue tundra is born that still has a spark of fire inside it. These dragons, known as “Flambebes” (a term thought to be coined by the Tundras themselves.) feel called back to the Wastes, much like Coatls are, where they will find a clan to live with. Often, Flambebes get along very well with Coatls. While the ears of the Tundra adapted and improved, since snow often serves to muffle vibrations, all Tundras are still able to make low frequency rumbles that Coatls can understand, and thus, often have the easiest time communicating with their cousin species.[/img]
